What We Offer

At Renew Education, we provide a high-impact alternative provision for young people aged 11–16 who need a fresh approach to learning.

Our programme blends academic support, vocational training, therapeutic mentoring, and enrichment experiences, delivered across a range of trusted local venues in Bridgwater. Every young person has a personalised timetable designed around their needs, interests, and long-term goals.

Academic Support

We help pupils re-engage with learning through:

  • 1:1 and small group academic sessions

  • Digital maths courses leading to qualifications

  • Access to functional skills and GCSE exams

  • Calm, low-stimulation environments

Learning is paced to each child’s readiness and confidence.

Vocational Pathways

We believe in real-world learning with purpose. Our vocational offer includes:

  • Animal care and equine studies at Bridgwater College (Cannington)

  • Barbering, beauty, hairdressing, and hospitality taster sessions

  • Mechanics and bike repair with “On Your Bike”

  • Barista and food workshops via community partnerships

These sessions help pupils build confidence, discover interests, and prepare for the future.

Therapeutic Mentoring

Our staff are trained in trauma-informed practice and emotional coaching. We support young people through:

  • 1:1 mentoring focused on emotional regulation

  • Sensory circuits and calming routines

  • “Now and Next” boards for visual structure

  • Consistent relationships and safe spaces

We meet pupils where they are, and build trust from day one.

Outdoor & Enrichment Activities

To support wellbeing and self-esteem, we provide:

  • Paddleboarding, fishing, and boating at Somerset Boat Centre

  • Strength training and self-defence at Watergate Studios

  • Sports at Host 5-a-side pitches and YMCA facilities

  • Gardening and nature-based learning

Movement, creativity, and connection are embedded throughout the week.

Preparing for the Future

We also offer:

  • Access to entrepreneurship and business projects

  • Coding and digital app design using AI and tools like Replit

  • Functional workplace skills to boost confidence and independence

We want young people to leave Renew with skills, clarity, and choices.
