Resetting. Rebuilding confidence. Renewing futures.

We help young people reconnect with their education

About Renew

Built on the belief that every young person can succeed — when they find the right environment.

Renew Education exists for young people who are capable, creative and full of potential, but for whom mainstream education isn't currently working.

We believe there is something that can engage and inspire every young person.

Our role is to create the relationships, environment and opportunities that help them find it — while ensuring education and meaningful academic progress remain at the heart of their provision.

Why Renew Exists

Renew was created from a simple belief: there is something that can light every young person up.

Not every child thrives in the same environment, in the same way, or at the same pace. For some young people, mainstream education can become a place associated with frustration, anxiety, disengagement or repeated experiences of feeling unsuccessful.

That should not define their future.

We created Renew to offer a different route — one built around strong relationships, high expectations, meaningful learning and a genuine sense of belonging.

Our aim is not simply to give young people time away from school. It is to help them reconnect with education, recognise their own strengths and begin to see what could be possible for them again.

By combining curriculum delivery with mentoring, vocational experiences and learning across the wider community, we create opportunities for young people to experience success in different ways — while continuing to make meaningful educational progress.

Ultimately, Renew exists to help young people leave us with greater confidence, stronger skills and more hope for what comes next.

Our Approach

Relationships first. Education always.

Young people make progress when they feel safe, understood and supported — but also when they are challenged, encouraged and given meaningful opportunities to succeed.

Our approach combines strong relationships with clear expectations and purposeful learning.

Personalised Provision

Every placement is shaped around the individual young person.

We work with commissioning schools to understand their needs, starting point and intended outcomes, then build a programme that combines academic learning, personal development and practical experiences.

Curriculum at the Core

Education remains central to everything we do.

Our team delivers personalised curriculum learning, including English and Maths, within a smaller and more supportive environment. Teaching is adapted to help young people re-engage, experience success and continue making academic progress.

Strong Relationships

Trust is often the starting point for progress.

Our small-group and 1:1 model allows staff to build consistent relationships, understand individual needs and create an environment where young people feel seen, heard and valued.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Some of the most powerful learning happens in the real world.

Through our community partners, young people can access vocational, outdoor and practical experiences that develop confidence, independence, skills and aspiration.

High Expectations

Alternative provision should not mean lower expectations.

We believe every young person should be encouraged to achieve, take responsibility, develop resilience and recognise what they are capable of.

Our role is to provide the support and environment they need to get there.

Our Values

Our values were shaped by the people who work at Renew. They reflect how we want young people to experience our provision and the standards we expect from ourselves.

Purposeful Impact

Everything we do should make a difference.

We want every interaction, lesson and experience to have purpose. Whether we are supporting academic progress, building confidence, developing a new skill or helping a young person take their next step, we focus on creating meaningful and measurable progress.

We don't provide activities simply to fill time. There should always be a reason behind what we do.

Trust & Integrity

Strong relationships are built on consistency, honesty and doing what we say we will do.

Young people need adults they can rely on. Schools and families need the same.

We communicate openly, maintain high professional standards and take responsibility for our actions. We create clear boundaries and consistent expectations so young people know where they stand and feel safe enough to learn and grow.

Community & Belonging

Every young person should feel that they have a place where they belong.

Relationships and community sit at the heart of Renew.

We create an environment where young people feel seen, heard and valued, while connecting them with positive people, organisations and experiences beyond our centre.

Through those relationships, we help young people develop confidence, contribute to their community and begin to recognise the opportunities available to them.

Who We Work With

We work in partnership with schools, local authorities and other education professionals to provide high-quality alternative provision for young people aged 7–16.

Our provision may be suitable for young people who:

  • Are at risk of suspension or permanent exclusion

  • Are struggling to engage or thrive within mainstream education

  • Have social, emotional or mental health (SEMH) needs

  • Need a smaller, more personalised learning environment

  • Require additional support to re-engage with the curriculum

  • Are working towards reintegration or transition to another educational setting

  • Would benefit from a combination of academic, vocational and experiential learning

Every referral is considered individually. We work closely with the commissioning school, the young person and their family to understand their needs, intended outcomes and whether Renew is the right provision for them.
